Jess Yasuda is a full-time marriage celebrant based in Hobart who creates warm, fun and heartfelt wedding ceremonies throughout Tasmania. A professional writer and natural storyteller, Jess specialises in personalised ceremonies that capture each couple's unique love story with humour, warmth and genuine emotion. From intimate elopements with just two witnesses to large weddings with 200 guests, Jess offers a relaxed, inclusive approach and welcomes LGBTQIA+ couples.
Jess offers three wedding packages to suit different styles and budgets. Her Legals Only package costs $550, or $450 for Monday–Thursday weddings close to Hobart CBD, and provides a simple, registry-style marriage without a formal ceremony. Couples can marry at home, in a park, at the pub or another convenient location in the Hobart area, with the legal proceedings taking less than 15 minutes. Personal vows and a ring exchange can be included, and Jess can arrange witnesses for an additional $50 per person.
Jess also offers a Short and Sweet package ($660) including a personalised ceremony of less than 20 minutes, with vows, a ring exchange and optional readings or symbolic rituals. Her Full Love Story package is $1,199 and includes a bespoke ceremony script written around your relationship. You get unlimited script revisions, a rehearsal and the opportunity to incorporate cultural traditions, readings and personal touches. Jess also supplies a professional Bose PA system and Sennheiser microphone for ceremony music and clear audio, along with a signing table and chairs.
ELOPEMENTS - Jess is particularly experienced in organising intimate elopements for interstate and overseas couples travelling to Tasmania. She can recommend ceremony locations ranging from beaches, gardens and clifftops to waterfalls and private Airbnbs. Jess manages the legal paperwork, including the Notice of Intended Marriage, and can complete much of the preparation through online meetings. She can also help you arrange photography and witnesses for your ceremony.
