MakMak Macarons

Established in April 2010, MakMak provides premium, handmade macarons to retail customers via outlets in Newtown, Sydney CBD, Sydney International Airport and online at http://shop.makmak.com.au. MakMak also services wholesale, corporate, event and wedding customers all across Australia.
MakMak’s handmade macarons are distinguished by their unique texture and flavour as well as a commitment to sourcing the highest quality ingredients including Callebaut chocolate, Maldon Sea Salt and Bombay Sapphire gin. MakMak uses seasonal fresh fruits and native Australian ingredients including lemon myrtle and strawberry gum. The macarons are also decorated by hand with leaves, flowers and other unique and beautiful designs.
After travelling around the world tasting macarons, MakMak’s founder, Carlos Heng, discovered there wasn’t many quality ones to be found. So he decided to make his own.
MakMak’s macarons were declared to be Sydney’s best in a blind tasting by esteemed Sydney chefs Christine Manfield (Universal), Peter Gilmore (Quay) and Ross Lusted (The Bridge Room). MakMak’s newest product, the 36-hour chocolate chip cookie, is winning fans throughout Sydney and MakMak’s CBD store, MADE, was recently named ‘Best Place for Cookies’ in Sydney by Truelocal.com.au.
