Among our favourite wedding venues in the Hunter Valley is the amazing St Joseph's Guesthouse which was built from the ruins of a 160 year church by the fabulously personable owner Steve. He's turned the crumbling sandstone ruins into a grand wedding destination with 5 upstairs bedrooms and an incredibly atmospheric function space on the ground floor.
The peaceful hillside setting overlooks the Hawkesbury Valley not far from Wollombi and is a tranquil and affordable spot for relaxed destination weddings. The impressive facade of the church creates a dramatic backdrop for atmospheric outdoor wedding receptions and hanging above the front sandstone steps is the original church bell which still rings today.
Goosewing Cottage
